the azadi monument

maybe i’m oblivious to more things than previously thought but i’d never seen this before today. it’s the azadi monument (freedom monument) in tehran, it was built in 1971 and it houses a museum.
it looks incredible.

15,000 differently shaped blocks were used to create it’s unique shape and it contains 4 elevators and 2 staircases.

well this is actually outdoors. it’s called the stadtlounge (city lounge) and it’s situated in the centre of st.gallen in switzerland.
