top 5 extreme method actors alive today

(these are actors i believe to be the top 5 extreme method actors alive today due to techniques / preparation methods i’m aware of. please note, before you start sending me hate mail, these are deliberately male-only. i’ll probably do another post just consisting of actresses at a later date).
first off, i’ll give you my take on [...]

it’s all about the timing

for some reason i’m always impressed by synchronization/mass-choreography on film.
so i thought i’d share some of my favourite videos that display some kind of awe-inspiring timing or planning.
tracy thorn video:

starlings swarming:

synchronized swimming:

synchronized fireworks display:

the mass games:

samsung dance:

red arrows flying display:

incredible timed driving:

xmas lights:

group popping locking:

trained goldfish:

synchronized trampoline:

product placement in politics

i watched the new transformers movie the other day. quick review: the cgi blew me away, everything else just fucking blew.
the worst thing though was the product placement for ebay, culminating in one of the funniest product placement moments in history (i don’t want to spoil it for you but let’s just say that a [...]

the secret life of plants (1979)

watch this.
this documentary is extremely hard to get hold of and has just (9th july) been uploaded to google video. it’s a 1979 documentary about plants and was one of the very few at the time to use time-lapse photography. on top of that, there’s a soundtrack by stevie wonder.

imdb entry is here.

the y-bridge

i never thought i’d see a bridge with a junction in the middle.

this is the y-bridge in zanesville, ohio and it’s apparently the only bridge in the world that you can drive across and end up on the same side of the river. the original bridge was a wooden toll bridge, built in 1814, the [...]

incredible treehouses

until a few days ago i didn’t really appreciate treehouses. sure i played in a couple when i was younger and i wanted to live in the ewok village for a couple of days but since the age of 14 i just assumed they’d always remain the same.

now i actually want to buy/build one and raise a family in it. sod houses, i’m retiring in a treemansion 100ft in the air with a slide down to the ground.

treehouses are the future.

theme parks of the world

i’ve been spending quality time looking for the most interesting theme parks on earth, unfortunately i didn’t have the time or money to test them all out in person. if you fancy sponsoring me to re-write it after a proper world tour then just let me know.
for now though, read the fuck out of this…
strangest theme [...]

this film is not yet rated (2006)

get it while you can chaps, this’ll be gone soon.
it’s the full movie and if you don’t already know it’s about the motion picture association of america (mpaa) film rating system - imdb link.
it’s funny and worrying in equal doses and the best thing you can do right now is watch it through your balls (eye)….

(there’s [...]

strange planes

a long time ago, in the good old days, there was a documentary series on the discovery channel called ‘wings’. it was about planes and it was slightly geeky.
some genius has decided to start uploading the episodes to pootube.
here’s ’strange planes’ (it’s about strange planes)…
part 1

part 2

10 of the best natural phenomena

(i’ve now added ball lightning and fire rainbow to the list, you can see them at the bottom)
obviously, rainbows aren’t the only brilliant natural phenomena on earth.
below are some optical phenomena, atmospheric phenomena, electrical phenomena and natural optical illusions and they’re all incredible for one reason or another.
if you know of others worth a mention, [...]
